A New Food Festival is Coming to Cedar Rapids This May

Get ready for a whole bunch of good food! The Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival is launching a new event this May "that promises to be a feast for the senses!"

On Monday (January 29th), the Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival announced the Freedom FEASTival, where "attendees will explore a celebration of local culinary delights from food trucks and community vendors throughout the picturesque 2^nd Avenue Bridge in Downtown Cedar Rapids." The event will take place Friday, May 3rd from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will not have an admission fee. It will serve as a fundraiser for the Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival.

The Freedom FEASTival is just one of many events scheduled for the 41st annual Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival, but it is a bit earlier than most of the others. The Freedom Festival will take place June 14th through the 4th of July and include traditional events like a parade, a pancake breakfast, Dock Dogs, Balloon Glow, and a huge fireworks display.
