Get ready for a whole bunch of good food! The Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival is launching a new event this May "that promises to be a feast for the senses!"

On Monday (January 29th), the Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival announced the Freedom FEASTival, where "attendees will explore a celebration of local culinary delights from food trucks and community vendors throughout the picturesque 2nd Avenue Bridge in Downtown Cedar Rapids." The event will take place Friday, May 3rd from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will not have an admission fee. It will serve as a fundraiser for the Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival.

The Freedom FEASTival is just one of many events scheduled for the 41st annual Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival, but it is a bit earlier than most of the others. The Freedom Festival will take place June 14th through the 4th of July and include traditional events like a parade, a pancake breakfast, Dock Dogs, Balloon Glow, and a huge fireworks display. The official schedule for 2024 has yet to be announced, but you can get the latest updates on this year's festival on the official website HERE.

If you're interested in becoming a vendor for the first ever Freedom FEASTival, you can check out all the terms and conditions and fill out an application HERE. The ultimate goal is to have a wide variety of different food options for event attendees to choose from.
