An Eastern Iowa Bakery Creates Some of the Coolest Cakes Ever

These cakes take some SERIOUS talent!

A couple of months ago, Brain and I were doing a live broadcast at the Eastern Iowa Airport to celebrate a new direct flight to Orlando. Everybody at the airport was welcome to enjoy free breakfast and some airport swag, but the best part was definitely the cake. We were absolutely BLOWN AWAY by how cool it was. It was so detailed and colorful, we almost didn't want to cut into it! Spoiler alert: we did, and it was delicious. And, did we mention that EVERY part of the cake was edible?!

We discovered that the cake was custom made by Classic Cakes By Design in Cedar Rapids, a "high-end cake shop made to create the ideal centerpiece for your occasion." The cake designer is Anne Mason, who has been in the business for over 20 years. According to the website, Anne feels that "cakes are the hallmark of any celebration, whether it's a wedding or  anniversary, birthday, graduation, or a shower. It's always the star attraction; the life of the party. It should taste and look perfect for that special occasion."
