A Waverly school employee, set to retire as of today, will instead be remembered by friends and family after passing away from injuries in a bicycle accident.

60-year-old Pamela Druvenga was injured on June 5th, when the tire of her bicycle hit the tire of another bike, flipping her over on the Waverly Rail Trail. Druvenga was transferred to University Hospitals with critical injuries; she died Wednesday (June 20th).

Druvenga had worked for the Waverly-Shell Rock School District for 24 years, and was scheduled to retire today (Friday).

Celebration of Life services for Druvenga are set for Saturday at 1pm at Trinity United Methodist church in Waverly, with visitation today from 4-7pm at the church.
