Beloved Cedar Falls’ Pizza Chain Expands South, Finally Opens Doors
I went to school at UNI, if you haven't gathered that already.
Given my experience, I know that there are a few food staples in the Cedar Valley for college students: Amigos, J's, Peppers, and, of course, Chad's Pizza to name a few. Chad's is delivered to a variety of events, enjoyed any day of the week, and it's definitely a go-to after a night on The Hill.
Now, the Cedar Falls and Dyersville pizza chain is expanding south to Grundy Center, having just 'cut the ribbon' and opened its doors on Thursday of last week. Prior to that, starting in late November, the location had only been taking carry-out orders.
Rumors of the new pizza place in town began to circulate after owner of the building at 2201 Commerce Drive, Dave Weidenbacher, spoke to Grundy Center city council, saying he had plans to renovate and bring Chad's to town. The news became official per The Grundy Register in September of last year.
The menu at the Grundy Center Chad's will be the same as the spot in Cedar Falls, as you can see on the chain's website. Some of their unique, specialty pizzas include pickle rollup, biscuits and gravy, Thanksgiving feast, chicken cordon bleu, and way, way more than that. Check out the pizza portion of their menu:
While they're known for having a wide variety of unique pizzas Chad's also serves burgers, wings, salads, desserts, and more.
