Convenience Store Chain Continuing Cedar Rapids Metro Expansion

Just over a month after we told you Kwik Star was expanding into Hiawatha, they're at it again.

The La Crosse, Wisconsin based chain of convenience stores that opened their first location in Cedar Rapids four years ago, has announced its sixth store in the Cedar Rapids metro.

The newest convenience store location will sit just to the east of the new headquarters for Collins Community Credit Union that's under construction on the southwest corner of Blairs Ferry Road and Rockwell Drive NE. It will be in the development known as Northtowne Market. This will be the company's second location on Blairs Ferry Road. The Hiawatha store under construction is on the north side of Blairs Ferry Road, just east of Edgewood Road NE.

The new Cedar Rapids Kwik Star is expected to open in mid-October, with the opening of the Hiawatha store now expected to be at the very beginning of October.

Kwik Star currently operates stores on 33rd Avenue, Williams Blvd, and on Runway Court SW, off 6th Street and Wright Brothers Blvd, in Cedar Rapids and on Carlson Way in Marion.
