These days we really hear the word safe applied to our environments. I mean it's a scary world out there with all the crimes that seem to be never-ending. So when a list comes out naming the safest cities in the U.S. a lot of us are going to pay attention to where we should think about going to stay safe and wonder if our city we live in is considered "safe."

WalletHub has recently released 2019's Safest Cities in America list which compares over 180 U.S. cities with multiple data points in terms of safety, including no physical forms of danger, anything from personal attacks to traffic accidents. Guess what Iowa.... we made the list! Well, one of our Eastern Iowa city friends has. Cedar Rapids is among the top 20 safest cities in America ranking at number 18. Des Moines follows behind ranking at number 75 on the list.

WalletHub also broke down the lists into categories based on traffic accidents, assaults, hate crimes, unemployment rates and even natural disasters. You can check out the full article here. I guess what we can learn from this is that there still are safe places in the world and we have to always be aware of our surroundings.
