Eastern Iowa to Welcome New Smoothie Shop and Cafe [PHOTOS]

Another new business is coming to Cedar Rapids. One with a variety of food items, along with a wide array of smoothies.

They opened their first location 25 years ago and now there are over 1,000 stores in the United States. Only five are in Iowa and none in eastern Iowa. That's about to change.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe is on its way to Cedar Rapids with a food menu that includes salads, flatbreads, wraps, quesadillas, sandwiches, and breakfast items. And the smoothies look absolutely delish. There are 21 on the online menu, with everything from Balanced Fusions to Super Veggies, Fruit Blends, and Tropical Treats. They also offer a variety of supplements as well as fresh add-ins.

According to building permits issued by the City of Cedar Rapids, Tropical Smoothie Cafe will be located at 2215 Edgewood Road S.W., just off the intersection of Edgewood Road and Williams Boulevard. Remodeling work has begun on the location that will share the building with an existing business, Seasons Family Dental Care.

I reached out to Tropical Smoothie Cafe for comments and a timeline for the new location but haven't heard back yet. As soon as we get more details on a possible opening date, we'll let you know. For now, I'll just go with, Coming Soon.
