There will be a lot of dudes letting themselves go this month, and they will probably be doing it for charity.

There are actually two charities basically doing the same thing. Both promote mens' health issues such as prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

You may be familiar with the term "Movember" which is where guys grow mustaches and look like their dads (or 70s porn actors) while raising money (women can raise money too without growing any facial hair).

There is also "No-Shave November" -- which despite what you may believe is not the same thing. They raise money for the same causes, and use fundraising like Movember, but they also have an extra twist:

The rules of No-Shave November are simple: put down your razor for 30 days and donate your monthly hair-maintenance expenses to the cause.

No-Shave November wants you to not shave at all and donate the money you would use for razors, shaving cream, and gauze (some of us hate shaving) to help the fight against male-oriented cancers.

Where Movember is mustache-specific, No-Shave November wants beards just as much as staches. And ladies can go the entire month without shaving (!) and donate their money to No-Shave November.

So, if you see me not shaving because I'm lazy intentionally growing facial hair this month, know that I am doing it for a good cause.
