If you were around for the amazing story that was Kurt Warner and the St. Louis Rams, then you probably remember saying, "someday they're going to make this into a movie!" That someday is now, and the film, 'American Underdog: The Kurt Warner Story' is set to hit theaters this December. We got our first look at some behind the scenes footage from the movie, and it looks like the biopic will tell Kurt's story from it's humble beginning!

For those who don't remember, or who weren't around, Kurt Warner is a Cedar Rapids native. He played his high school football at the former Cedar Rapids Regis high school. He then went to the University of Northern Iowa. He didn't get to start at UNI until his senior season, but went on to win conference offensive player of the year honors. After going undrafted in the 1994 NFL Draft, Warner was invited to the Green Bay Packers training camp. He was eventually cut, and went to work at a Hy-Vee in Cedar Falls stocking shelves.

Eventually, Warner would end up in the Arena Football League, where he starred for the Iowa Barnstormers. He would eventually get his second chance in the NFL with the St. Louis Rams. After an injury to starting QB Trent Green, Warner was named the starter heading into the 1999 season. And the rest, they say, is history.

Will the movie be any good? I hope it is. Actor Zachary Levi plays Kurt, while actress Anna Paquin plays Brenda Warner. Dennis Quaid gets the pleasure of playing Rams head coach Dick Vermeil.
