Historic March Madness Upset Gives Us All Free Pizza
Has your bracket been busted? Most likely. But free pizza should make you feel better, right? Little Caesars promised to give away a free lunch combo if a #16 seed defeated a #1 seed in the NCAA tournament. Though a few teams had come close, this had never happened in the history of the tournament. So, surely, it wouldn't happen THIS year, either.
Well...it did.
Friday night, the University of Maryland-Baltimore County Retrievers upset the Virginia Cavaliers (the top seed in the ENTIRE tournament) 74-54, giving "March Madness" a whole new meaning, and giving free pizza to a shocked--and hungry--nation.
As a result of this remarkable upset, Little Caesars is paying up on Monday, April 2nd, the day of the men's basketball National Championship game.
Stop in on April 2nd between 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to get your free lunch. We all have UMBC to thank.
