The incident began around 6:35 p.m. when the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a westbound driver behaving erratically on the way into Rock Rapids. A deputy quickly located Solorzano Villeda driving a 2016 Ford Fusion and observed the vehicle being driven erratically.

Despite the cloudy, rainy weather, Solorzano Villeda was wearing sunglasses. Upon removing them, the deputy noticed his bloodshot and watery eyes, as well as the smell of intoxicants. A six-pack of Corona beer was found behind the passenger’s seat, with an open container on the center console.
Finding More While Transporting Him To Jail
Solorzano Villeda was transported to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, where a folded dollar bill containing a white powder was found near his seat in the patrol vehicle. Solorzano Villeda admitted the substance was methamphetamine, according to the incident report. A preliminary breath test indicated his blood alcohol concentration was over the legal limit.
During the investigation, Solorzano Villeda presented a Minnesota driver’s license, which was determined to be fake as it incorrectly listed his height as 8 feet tall, while he actually stands at about 5 feet, 8 inches. After providing his real name and date of birth, authorities discovered he had an outstanding warrant in Webster County for failing to appear in court on a 2017 OWI charge.
Facing Charges
Solorzano Villeda faces several charges, including first-offense operating while under the influence, first-offense possession of methamphetamine, possession of an open container of alcohol, providing false identification information, unlawful use of a license or non-operators ID card, and not having a valid driver’s license.
He remains in custody awaiting further legal proceedings.
