Iowa Named #1 State To Live In U.S.
U.S. News & World Report chose Iowa as its best state to live for 2018.
The rankings show how each of the 50 U.S. states performed in 77 metrics across eight categories:
- Health care
- Education
- Economy
- Opportunity
- Infrastructure
- Crime
- Fiscal stability
- Quality of life
Iowa ranked #3 in health care, #5 in education, #17 in economy, #4 in opportunity, #1 overall in infrastructure, 15th in crime, 21st in fiscal stability, and #9 in quality of life. Governor Kim Reynolds joined CBS This Morning after the rankings were revealed on Tuesday.
"What an honor it is to recognize Iowans that are making a difference in communities every single day all across our state," Reynolds said. "And Iowa truly is a place where if you work hard, dream big, anything is possible."
Minnesota, Utah, North Dakota, New Hampshire, Washington, Nebraska, Massachusetts, Vermont & Colorado made up the rest of the top 10. Iowa placed #6 in 2017. Read more HERE.
