According to the Des Moines Register, Iowa State University Athletic Director Jamie Pollard announced that fans of men's and women's basketball will be able to attend games at Hilton Coliseum in Ames this season. The arena will be limited to a very small cap of 1,373 fans in the stands, compared to its full capacity of 14,384.

Other protocols that will be in place will be similar to football, beginning with the monitoring of COVID-19 conditions to fluctuate that cap if and when necessary.

Fans in attendance will be required to wear face-coverings and practice social distancing and unfortunately, the fun promotions that allow fans on-court access will be called off and that access will not be allowed. Fans can bring snacks as the only concession available will be bottled beverages.

Season-ticket holders will soon hear from the Iowa State athletic department as to how the limited number of tickets taken per game will be allocated. The parking lot will open 75 minutes before the start of games. Fans can enter Hilton Coliseum an hour before the game starts.

These guidelines apply to both the men's and women's teams, with men hosting Kansas State at Hilton Coliseum on December 15 for its first conference home game, while the women host Kansas State on December 18. More on the schedules from the Cyclone sports website and the Gazette. The home opener for the men is a non-conference contest against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on November 29, followed by South Dakota State on December 2. Times and TV will be announced later.
