A press conference was held Tuesday afternoon by Iowa State Athletic Director Jamie Pollard, as well as its President and police chief, discussing what went down two weeks ago at the Cy-Hawk game in Ames.

The allegations of abuse and harassment have been well-documented, but leaders wanted to conclude their investigation before commenting.

ISU officials say they were "made aware" of 5 reports of alleged incidents, while the police chief stated no one had come forward to law enforcement with any complaints.

Pollard said he believes the Iowa marching band was victimized because it's also happened to his school's band before.

'[T]hat's flat-out embarrassing," he said. "It's shameful. It's inexcusable. And we all have to do better."

Pollard and Gary Barta, the University of Iowa athletic director had previously released a joint statement saying they aim to provide a safe environment in their stadiums, and implored everyone attending games to be on their best behavior.

UI President Bruce Harreld chimed in as well, saying he wants an official plan presented to him to protect everyone before next season's Cy-Hawk game, implying he might not be "comfortable" carrying on with the game at all if safety concerns are not addressed.

Can't we all just get along?
