A shooting near the University of Iowa campus took place in the early hours of Sunday, April 19th, and left five people wounded, including three stories.

The news flooded social media yesterday, and multiple persons of interest remain at large. Multiple victims were transported from the Ped Mall to area hospitals for gunshot wounds, per KCCI. One person was in critical condition while four others were reported to be stable.

What We Know about the Iowa City Shooting:

On Sunday morning, police were responding to reports of a large fight in downtown Iowa City, which was close to crowded bars and restaurants. Shots were fired, and videos shared across social media showed several different fights occurring n front of an outdoor bar area.

As of Sunday, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, but several photos of persons of interests were released. University of Iowa President Barbara Wilson confirmed that three students were wounded, and support was available for the campus community:

Iowa City Public Safety shared photos of persons of interest in the shooting to Facebook. In the post, anyone with information on those pictured area advised to contact Detective Cade Burma at cburma@iowa-city.org or 319-356-5275.
