Iowa City Woman Accused Of Brandishing BB Gun On People Arguing With Her Daughter
We know parents can get really defensive of their kids.
One woman in Iowa City was not going to stand for it when her daughter was arguing with people at Grant Wood Elementary.
According to KCRG, Sharetta Jamison allegedly pulled a BB gun at 2 people who were arguing with her daughter around 7:12 p.m. on March 31st.

The criminal complaint says that Jamison's daughter was in a fight and called her. Jamison then drove to Grant Wood Elementary and pulled out a Glock-style handgun out of her trunk and brandished it.
Jamison says she went to the school with the replica gun to break up the fight. Her daughter told officers that "everyone thought [the gun] was real".
A search of her house did turn up a Glock BB handgun.
Based on jail roster records, this isn't her first brush with the law in recent years. Records from 2024 show that she was charged with second-degree theft as part of a check fraud conspiracy. The conspiracy stole $60,000 from a local bank and had 12 total coconspirators, of which she was one. Dejuan Jamison, the accused ringleader of it, got 10 years in prison at the time of sentencing. She got 2 years probation and a deferred judgment for her part in that.
Her charge this time is an aggravated misdemeanor of two counts of assault while displaying a dangerous weapon. Each charge has a cash/surety bond of $3,000.
There's no word on what the argument was about that made her pull the gun to begin with.
