Major Wrestling Event Coming To Waterloo This Weekend
The National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum will welcome eight of the top independent professional wrestlers from across the country Thursday-Saturday.
The first-ever "Hall of Fame Classic" is an eight-man tournament showcasing elite independent wrestling talent, including former WWE star Shelton Benjamin, who is also a former collegiate national champion from the University of Minnesota. The tournament begins at 1 p.m. on Friday (July 21) and the final match will take place during the Impact Pro Wrestling show at 7 p.m. inside the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center.
The "Hall of Fame Classic" coincides with the 2017 George Tragos/Lou Thesz Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, which will be held Saturday night, also at the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center.
Former WWE superstars Sabu & Benjamin (pictured), current WWE performers Jason Jordan & Chad Gable, as well as WWE Hall of Famers J.J. Dillon, Paul Orndorff, Stan Hansen, Gerry Brisco and Jim Ross will all be attending along with many other distinguished guests.
