A Virginia man is going to get a lot more than the 67-cent check I got in the mail yesterday!

A man who was under anesthesia for a colonoscopy, and was mercilessly mocked (similar to how a lot of people were treated in high school) was awarded $500,000 in damages. The patient, identified in the lawsuit by the initials D.B., sued Dr. Tiffany Ingham after he listened to audio in which she called him a “retard,“ joked he had “syphilis“ and complained that she wanted to punch him in the face.

D.B. caught the scathing remarks on his phone because he had it set up to record post-operation instructions and forgot to turn it off afterward.

Ingham and her practice were ordered to pay up last week for medical malpractice, punitive damages and defamation.
