One person was killed and another injured in two separate traffic accidents in eastern Iowa on Wednesday.

The fatal crash occurred around 7:45 PM in Cedar Falls. According to public safety officials, a motorcyclist died in the accident on Iowa Highway 58 northbound between Viking and Greenhill Roads.

Authorities have not released any specific details on the crash, including the victim's name.

The accident remains under investigation by Cedar Falls public safety officials.

Personal Injury Accident Near Marion

In Linn County, sheriff's officials reported that a Wyoming, Iowa woman was hurt in a single-vehicle crash near Marion.

Authorities said Heather Sproston lost control of her vehicle while attempting to pass a dump truck. The vehicle veered toward a ditch. She overcorrected, which caused the vehicle to across the road. The vehicle ended up in a field.

According to sheriff's officials, Sproston was the only occupant in the vehicle. Authorities said she suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The accident happened Wednesday morning on County Home Road, about 13 miles northeast of Marion.
