So when you wish you could send that driver on San Marnan -- or that co-worker who roots for the wrong Iowa school -- into outer space, there's a new planet that has been discovered that would be perfect for them!

NASA’s Kepler space telescope has discovered the closest match yet to a world that is similar to Earth.

Located about 1,400 light-years from our planet, Kepler 452b is about 60 percent bigger than Earth and circles a sun-like star in an orbit that takes 385 days, just slightly longer than our own year.

“We can think of Kepler 452b as an older, bigger cousin to Earth,“ Dr. Jon Jenkins of NASA’s Ames Research Center says. “There’s substantial opportunity for life to arise, should all the necessary ingredients and conditions for life exist on this planet.“

So you won't have to KILL anyone by sending them to another planet, since it's basically the same atmosphere as Earth, but they'll just be 1,440 years when they get there. You can just catch them up on what they missed through Facebook.
