Bwahahahahaha! Okay, it's not a nefarious plot from a cartoonish movie villain. But (SPOILER ALERT!) the Cedar Valley isn't having a White Christmas this year. Apparently, neither is anyone else.

Perhaps it’s not surprising in light of the record-high temperatures that most of the U.S. has seen this month, but new weather data shows that practically no Americans will get to experience a white Christmas this year. If you live in the mountains -- and north of Iowa -- you may have a chance to have snow cover on the ground.

In fact, it’s likely that several parts of the country will actually set records for the mildest Christmas Eve and Christmas Day on record.

Meteorologist Michael Ventrice, who blogs for The Weather Company, tweeted, “One of the most impressive Christmas Eve temperature anomaly maps I’ve ever seen at this lead time. Record warmth.“ Another meteorologist, Ed Vallee, tweeted, “These temperatures for the month thus far are flat-out nuts.“

48 tomorrow here in eastern Iowa, 40 Christmas Eve, and 43 on Christmas.
