Parents are Hiring the Video Game Tutors
Neuman talked about this on the air with a bonus rant here.
The most popular video game of 2018 so far is a game called "Fortnite". Sarah E. Needleman on the Wall Street Journal reported that there are parents that will pay anywhere between $10 and $20 an hour for a person to come over to their house and tutor kids on how to become better at the game.
Ally Hicks is one of these parents that have hired a tutor so her 10 year old son would be better at the game. She told WSJ, "There's pressure not to just play it but to be really good at it. You can imagine what that was like for him at school."
I actually can imagine what that's like. I've sat at those lunch tables getting ripped for not being able to do the code for a FATALITY fast enough or not being able to pull off a 1080 in the game. It has made absolutely no impact on my adult life. I guarantee that my parents wouldn't pay a single cent to help me get through those cannon firing boats at level 8 of Super Mario Brothers 3.
Wouldn't you rather have your kid's retaliation at that lunch be, "You beat me at 'Fortnite' but I got a 36 on my ACT"? Get your kid a tutor for something that matters, snowflake.
