The troubles Robin Thicke and Pharrell had with "Blurred Lines" is back. You think people would learn, or maybe people are using that ruling to go after more established, famous, and richer musicians.

Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off" is the latest song to be accused to sounding too similar to someone else's music.

This is Jesse Braham (real name, his stage name is Jesse Graham) and "Haters Gonna Hate", from two years ago:

And Taylor:

Even though the songs don't sound that similar (notice the ratio to thumbs up and thumbs down on Braham/Graham's version) he thinks Taylor's riff about players gonna hate-hate-hate-etc. is stolen from him, and he wants $42 million, plus songwriting credit.

Not sure how relevant this information is, but Braham/Graham filed the lawsuit himself, and is asking for court fees to be waived because he hasn't had a job since 2006.

Chris Brown is also in some with this song:

Supposedly someone named Nayeri Gregor (stage name Nayri) made a song in 2009 that is unbelievably similar to "Don't Wake Me Up". She then played it for a producer she met, who she says memorized the song then replayed it for Brown and Benassi as his own, and then Chris recorded it.

Gregor says Brown’s version uses her song’s title, and shares similar lyrics, structures, beats and hooks. She’s looking for $150,000 for each infringement, along with other damages for the alleged theft. Chris's attorneys want to know why she waited so long to make the accusation.

There is no YouTube video of Nayri's version.

Good luck Taylor and Chris!
