Rydell Car & Bike Show Benefit Raises $12,000 For Local Charities
Who doesn't like cool cars? I mean really, I think a really cool-looking vintage car appeals to just about anyone, male or female, young and old. That's proven by the over two thousand people who are members of the local Facebook group Cedar Valley Area Car Show & Events Calendar.
One of the biggest car shows in the area was held in July as a local car dealer raised money for two great causes.
The 12th Annual Rydell Car & Bike Show Benefit was held on Sunday, July 11th at Rydell Chevrolet on San Marnan Drive in Waterloo. According to a press release, numerous makes and models from a variety of decades were among the over 200 cars and bikes represented. Top 25 trophies were awarded as well as 2 "Best Bike" awards and "Best of Show".
All proceeds from vehicle registrations, t-shirt sales, and partner donations were split between the Northeast Iowa Food Bank and the construction of Willow Run Dog Park in Evansdale. Partner donations were generously made by several businesses including Townsquare Media. Each organization received a check for $6,000, in all, $12,000 was raised for this great benefit in the Cedar Valley.
