Season Ticket Holders Get Exclusive Ticket Access To ‘Field of Dreams’ Game

It's been recently announced that Iowa residents are eligible to get tickets to the most highly anticipated sporting event of the year. This 'Field of Dreams' game has been on every Northeastern Iowan's radar for more than two years now.

While it seemed like the only way for Iowans to get access to this game was through the MLB's ticket lottery; it looks like there might be another way to get your hands on tickets to this game.

The 'Field of Dreams' game has been in the works since 2019 and was planned to be played in the summer of 2020. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, this game was pushed back a year. Fans worried that the COVID outbreak would affect how many people the MLB would put in the 8,000 seats in the new stadium.

It does look like some fans will be able to attend this huge game. The first sign of this was the special charity auction that the MLB put together for Stand Up To Cancer. For approximately $15,000 one lucky fan can bring three guests, spend a night in the iconic farmhouse from the movie, go to the game, and get some cool MLB swag.

Then, just last week the MLB announced that Iowa residents could enter into a ticket lottery, and be entered into a drawing so they could get the chance to purchase tickets. There are some rumors that these tickets could cost anywhere between 400 and 800 dollars.

It seemed like that these tickets would only be available to Iowans and a few select big wigs. Earlier this week, season ticket holders for the Chicago White Sox and the New York Yankees received this email from the MLB.

The email reads,

"We are excited to offer Season Ticket Holders the opportunity to register for a ticket purchase opportunity to purchase a Ticket Strip consisting of two (2) tickets and one (1) parking pass for the MLB at Field of Dreams game on Thursday, August 12th, 2021 at 6:15 p.m. in Dyersville, Iowa."

These specific seats according to this message will be bench style with no seatback, and the exact location of the seats is to be determined. In the message, if you are a season ticket holder and are selected you must purchase the Ticket Strip which will cost $400 each.

Ticket registration began on Monday, July 19th, and will go until July 23rd. Winners will be selected on July 26th. This is a bit different from the August notification date that Iowa residents will receive.

So, there is another chance for you to get these tickets, but only if you're a season ticket holder of the two teams playing.
