If you thought the 4th of July this year was going to be pretty boring due to celebrations being cancelled because of COVID-19, here is some good news!

According to the Independence Area Chamber of Commerce and Soifer Family McDonald's Facebook pages, Independence Iowa will be having a socially distant firework show on the 4th of July thanks to the Soifer Family McDonald's! Soifer Family McDonald's is sponsoring the 4th of July fireworks in Independence and not only that but they recently presented a $10,000 check to the Independence Area Chamber of Commerce to help sponsor the event:

According to the Independence Area Chamber of Commerce Facebook page, Independence's Social Distancing Fireworks will happen on Saturday July 4th at 9:45 pm. There is no public parking near the site of the fireworks which will be at 2332 Henley Ave, but people will be able to see them from a wide area and can also watch the live stream on the Facebook page.

Finally something to celebrate this summer! Happy early Independence Day!
