A Huntington Beach (Calif.) High School student is being hailed a hero after he rushed to the defense of a blind classmate who was being punched by a bully.

A video, recorded by a bystander, shows a teen repeatedly beating his blind peer on the head. Another student quickly leaps in, and with a single punch leaves the bully bleeding on the ground. There is language that kids shouldn't say, but this clip should be shown to anyone thinking of picking on someone weaker than they are.

The clip has been viewed nearly half a million times on YouTube (there are several identical versions on the site), where most commenters are cheering the rescuer and bashing the bully, while some are pulling "you don't know what happened first, maybe the blind kid started the fight".

I was a shy and scrawny kid in school, and let me tell you that I never started a fight in school. Kids didn't need a reason to try and beat me up, and other than being skinny and awkward I had no physical disability, so get out of here with "maybe the blind kid started it".

The bully was arrested and charged with misdemeanor bullying before being released to his parents.
