Fayette County authorities have arrested 2 West Union teens, after numerous reports of stolen vehicles and vehicle burglaries.

Just before 2:30am Sunday (March 20th), the Fayette County Sheriff got a report of a pickup stolen from a residence in Hawkeye.

The truck was located and stopped in West Union. The driver and passenger were identified as 17 year old boys from West Union. Both were taken into custody, and later released to their parents.

Authorities determined the pickup had been crashed into a tree and sustained about $3,000 in damage.

During the same time frame as the pickup theft, West Union Police took a report of a stolen vehicle from West Union. It was located just outside of Hawkeye. Two other vehicles in West Union were burglarized and items removed.

All of the incidents are apparently connected, and criminal charges will be filed following the investigation.

The teens' names won't be released until after the charges are filed.
