Last night’s premiere episode of The Muppets showed what went really went down in Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy’s highly publicized breakup, and they have so so so successfully modernized the characters (I mean that as a good thing). No spoilers in the article..........

"Kermie" -- as Miss Piggy used to call him -- informed her outside of a Pitch Perfect 2 screening (!!!) that he was tired of dealing with her vanity and jealousy, and she tried to play it cool but looked like she wanted to burst into tears.

Kermit, who is still serving as the executive producer of his ex-girlfriend’s show Up Late With Miss Piggy -- this show gives off such a "30 Rock" vibe based on its setting, this too is meant as a compliment -- later admitted that he found Miss Piggy “quirky“ when they were dating, but is now convinced she’s a lunatic.

Miss Piggy is a lunatic; Kermit was completely in the right, and they have given her a Kardashian-looking upgrade in the form of Denise.

The episode also featured cameos by Tom Bergeron, Imagine Dragons, and, awkwardly enough, Pitch Perfect 2 star Elizabeth Banks.

Is this show DVR-worthy? Hell yes!

Kermit and Miss Piggy did some cross-promoting on a fellow ABC show. Here the former couple is with Jimmy Kimmel.
