The Crazies was a horror movie that was filmed in Winterset and Lenox, Iowa. And unlike Other horror movies not only was it filmed in Iowa, but it actually has the plot take place, and happen in the State of Iowa.
While only a small number of major blockbusters horror movies have been filmed in Iowa, Plenty of independent, and straight to DVD movies have had filming spots in Iowa.
