You'd be surprised what you can come up with when you and your metal detector go adventuring in Iowa. A digger just shared a video showing a wide variety of items he found in an Iowa dump including a 400 year old Chinese coin.

Bugeater Metal Detecting did not disclose the exact location where he found this motherlode of items. He has obviously visited the place before referring to it as "the marble" place.

Here's a quick list of some of what he found with his metal detector:

  • Amber bottles
  • Uranium glass
  • Marbles from the early 20th century
  • Central & Northwestern railroad lock
  • Pieces from a Model T car

But, the real find was a Sheng Tsu Chinese cash coin dating back to 1662 to 1722.

I looked it up on Ebay and these type of coins aren't super-rare, but can get you a quick $20 if you're willing to sell.

If you can find a prime location like this guy and have a capable metal detector, you can collect some neat stuff. And to think that he found it practically in our own Iowa backyard.
