This is obviously geared toward men who are in a relationship, but if you're with a man who doesn't know how to cook please make sure the fire extinguisher is working today.

Held on the first Thursday of every November, "National Men Make Dinner Day" encourages men who never learned how to cook to give their best effort in the kitchen.

Sorry, barbecuing is not allowed. (Editor's note: This rule is bogus. The preparing of uncooked food with heat is cooking.)

Are there rules for "National Men Make Dinner Day"? Of course, because what fun is anything without rules?

Dinner must include a minimum of four ingredients and require at least one cooking utensil other than a fork.

Also, don't even think about any of these items for dinner tonight:

* chewing gum
* cotton candy
* take-out pizza
* pogos
* left-overs from last night
* sandwiches from office vending machine
* neighbors left-overs from last night
* anything barbecued
