Two People Killed in Iowa Hit-and-Run Accident

Two Iowans were killed this weekend in a hit-and-run crash.

Just after 9:10 p.m. Friday (10/13) night, a Ford Expedition traveling at a high rate of speed went through a red light and struck a Ford Fusion. Both occupants of the car died in the crash.

According to the Sioux City Journal, the Ford Expedition is the vehicle that ran the red light. It was traveling west on 6th Street in Sioux City, in northwest Iowa, when it collided with the Fusion at the intersection of 6th and Wesley Parkway. The Fusion had been traveling north on Wesley Parkway.

After the crash, both vehicles hit a traffic signal pole. The man driving the Expedition then fled the scene on foot. He turned himself into Sioux City police on Saturday and is cooperating with the investigation. The Sioux City Police Department is not releasing his name until their investigation is finished.

The two people killed in Friday night's crash have been identified as 51-year-old Terry A. Frisbie of Sioux City and 50-year-old Judith L. Jordan of Le Mars.
