University of Iowa Fraternities Suspended And Under Investigation
Well, the University of Iowa may have fallen off the list of top party schools in the nation, but that doesn't mean they aren't going hard out there. Unfortunately it seems some of the Greek Life out there overdid it; nine of the school's fraternities have been suspended.
According to a report from KCRG, the fraternities were officially put on suspension on Wednesday due to policy violations involving alcohol.
These are the fraternities that were disciplined:
• Pi Kappa Alpha
• Beta Theta Pi
• Pi Kappa Phi
• Acacia
• Sigma Pi
• Phi Delta Theta
• Sigma Phi Epsilon
• Sigma Alpha Epsilon
• Delta Chi
I don't think I've ever seen nine fraternities get taken down at once, so this is a pretty big step for the school!
University of Iowa officials said the violations involved alcohol use at open events, including tailgates. The organizations will each face an investigation, given the university reportedly made repeated attempts to shut down the behavior.
