Authorities have identified the teenager killed in a Monday night shooting in Waterloo.

According to police, 15-year-old Cortez Harrison had multiple gunshot wounds and was unresponsive when he showed up at a local hospital shortly after the incident was reported. Harrison was pronounced dead by hospital staff soon after he arrived.

Waterloo police said officers were dispatched to the 2800 block of East Fourth Street just after 10 PM Monday to investigate a report of shots fired in the area. Investigators confirmed the shooting occurred in a neighborhood alley, where they found several spent shell casings. Authorities determined at least one home was struck by a bullet.
