Waterloo East High School Wins Athletics Sportsmanship Award

In terms of sportsmanship, the recently-completed spring and summer sports seasons were successful for a high school in the Cedar Valley.

Waterloo East once again won the respect of other athletic officials in the Mississippi Valley Conference (MVC). The Trojans earned top honors in sportsmanship, according to ballots sent in by league officials involved with boys’ and girls’ soccer, baseball and softball.

A sportsmanship trophy was presented to East at the initial meeting of MVC athletic directors for the 2014-2015 school year. The meeting was held on Tuesday (August 26, 2014) at Cedar Rapids Xavier Catholic High School.

This is the second year in a row that East has earned the Cliff Brees 2014 Spring/Summer Sportsmanship Award as a member of the MVC's Mississippi Division.
