When a fire happens at a residence or place of business, those caught around or near the fire usually have some sort of form of smoke inhalation. Normally, humans are treated by fire departments and paramedics with some sort of oxygen mask to get clean air into the body and fight off the smoke inhalation. But what about your pets?

Most people probably don't even realize that your pets can suffer from smoke inhalation just like humans can and they need treatment as well if caught around a fire (I did not realize this either), which is why pet oxygen mask kits come in handy... and now the Waterloo Fire Department has them to better serve you and your pets needs!

According to KWWL, The Waterloo Fire Department has recently been donated six pet oxygen mask kits from the Invisible Fence of Cedar Rapids. Invisible Fence has donated over 12,400 masks to fire stations across the country with Waterloo being one of the departments on the receiving end. These masks will allow the firefighters to get oxygen to pets who are suffering from the smoke inhalation from fires.
