Waterloo's Compost Facility will soon be opening for the summer season.

Starting April 1, residents can drop off their yard waste for free at 2745 Independence Ave. The facility will be open daily from 8 AM to 8 PM, including holidays.

The site allows for the disposal of yard waste, brush and grass clippings. No commercial dumping is allowed.

As a reminder, the compost facility is open only to Waterloo residents.

The site also offers free access for pickup of compost, wood chips/mulch, and wood that may be cut for firewood.

Questions may be directed to the city's Sanitation Department at (319) 291-4455.
