A woman in Indiana, is selling her 4,000-square-foot riverfront home for just $200 to whomever writes the best essay on why they deserve it.

Rhonda Pennington tried selling the house in Vevay -- located on the Indiana side of the Ohio River about halfway between Louisville and Cincinnati -- the traditional way, but was unable to find a buyer.

“We are hoping that one lucky person will get this house and it will make a difference in their life,“ she tells the outlet. To enter the contest, you must pay a $199 fee and write an essay (200 words or less) on why you should win.

All essays will be judged by an anonymous panel of judges at Pennington’s alma mater Hanover College. You have until September 28 to make the woman feel sorry for you -- the cynic in me knows this is the route most people will go.

Make sure your spellcheck work too, yo. Good luck! This link has more information

(On second thought.....I rescind the good luck, since I am writing her about the house. I am emphasizing how important small towns like Vevay are and how people should invest in them, not just financially but emotionally as well, and how my 103-year old Nana always wanted me to own my own home, and I'd like to be able to do that for her before she dies.)
