The College Football Playoffs end Monday night with top-ranked LSU playing No. 3 Clemson in the 2020 National Championship Game at the Superdome in New Orleans, La.

Clemson, the defending champion, is seeking its third national title in program history. LSU, which features Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Joe Burrow, is seeking its first championship since 2007 and its fourth overall.

Meanwhile, the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs ended on Saturday with North Dakota State beating James Madison 28-20 in the title game. The Bison secured their eighth FCS championship in the past nine seasons with a goal-line stand, intercepting a pass in the final seconds to seal the victory.

The title was the first for North Dakota State under head coach Matt Entz, a Waterloo native and former UNI assistant who played college football at Wartburg.

In conjunction with Saturday's broadcast, ESPN revealed its list of Top 10 plays in the FCS this season. The network's No. 1 choice was a spectacular touchdown that UNI scored in its home-opening 34-14 victory over Southern Utah at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls on Sept. 7.

The play was a 56-yard pass from Will McElvain to Deion McShane, who caught the slightly under-thrown ball at the 15-yard line. While making the catch, McShane rolled over the Southern Utah defender and landed on his feet without touching the turf. He then ran to the end zone, putting the Panthers ahead 7-0 with 2:10 left in the first quarter.

UNI's win over the Thunderbirds was the 150th career victory for head coach Mark Farley. The Panthers went on to finish their 2019 campaign with a 10-5 overall record. Their season ended with a 17-0 loss to James Madison in the quarterfinals of the FCS playoffs.
