That same day, the Museum District will be holding a "Flashback to the Great Depression" program, in conjunction with the "Temperance and Turmoil" exhibit.

Join the Sullivan Brothers Iowa Veterans Museum on Saturday, September 21st from 9AM-5PM for Temperance & Turmoil: Flashback to the Great Depression.

In conjunction with the exhibit, step back in time and experience life during the Great Depression. Build “Hoovervilles” out of basic materials and learn the origin of their name. Make dolls out of scrap fabric. Learn basic sewing skills you can use to patch your clothes, and brush up on how you can “use it up, wear it out, make do, or do without.”

Activities are drop in and included with Museum Admission. For further details call 319-234-6357 or visit GMDistrict.org.
