During these scary times in the world, it is important to find the positive things in our communities and the ways to give back to others and here is a perfect way.

According to KWWL, the Grout Museum District is looking for nominations of military servicemen and their families for two awards that they will be announcing the recipients of at the 11th annual “A Night at the Museum: Bootleggers & Ballots” fundraising event on Saturday, June 13.

The first award they are seeking nominations for is the "Sullivan Brothers Outstanding Military Family Award." This award is used to honor "families with three or more military service members who have demonstrated exemplary community service and have sacrificed to uphold the home and family through their loved one’s service to our country."

The second award that they are seeking nominations for is the "Van G. Miller Memorial Award For Outstanding Support For Our Armed Forces." This award seeks to honor "businesses based in the state of Iowa who go above and beyond in honoring, supporting or hiring veterans and active duty military."

If you know of candidates for either of these awards that you would like to nominate you can nominate them here: https://www.groutmuseumdistrict.org/calendar/a-night-at-the-museum-bootleggers-bash-d06132020.aspx. Nominations are needed by May 8th.
