Get Your Lunch-To-Go During The Grout’s St. Patrick’s Fundraiser
Normally, the Grout Museum District's slogan is "Touch It, See It, Feel It", but at this time of the year, they're also encouraging you to "Eat It" as well. A delicious Reuben sandwich that is. A food that is regularly attributed to the Irish culture because of its two main ingredients: corned beef and cabbage. Pair that with a lovely green beer, and your special holiday is made.
Join the Friends of the Grout Historic Houses (FGHH) for their annual St. Patrick’s Fundraiser this Saturday, March 20. According to a press release: the $15.00 registration fee will cover a Reuben sandwich with French fries, cooked and provided by Jameson’s Public House. All lucky lunch-goers will also receive a goodie bag containing a free pass to the museum and more, compliments of FGHH. Proceeds will go toward the maintenance and upkeep of the historic Rensselaer Russell House Museum and the Snowden House.
Organizers would like to point out that this year's event and venue change is a one-time adjustment due to COVID-19. Champagne and dessert will not be included this year but will return in 2022.
So how does this year’s fundraiser work? Simply register here or by calling 319-234-6357. Once you're registered, call in your meal order to Jameson's (319-233-0701) this Saturday (the 20th), and let them know your pick up time preference and if you want to have your meal brought out to your car. Present your receipt printed or on your phone to Jameson’s to receive your to-go meal and goodie bag.
Here's your chance to support a great cause, enjoy a traditional Irish meal, and maybe a green beer or two, "slainte"! That means "cheers" in Irish.
