The Farmers’ Almanac Has an Odd Prediction our Iowa Summer
I do love it when the Farmers' Almanac comes out with its summer prediction. Not because I put a ton of stock in their analysis, but because it means we're done with winter. Or at least done talking about winter.
With that, it's time for the Farmers’ Almanac summer prediction. Generally, you think of the Farmers’ Almanac's winter prediction to be the "big one", but the summer prediction is extremely important for, well, farmers as their crops grow during the summer months.
For the summer of 2022, the Farmers’ Almanac has a unique prediction. No, not snow. And no, not "tornado filled". Nothing like that. They just use an... interesting word to describe Iowa, and the midwest, summer months.
That word?
SIZZLING
Seems odd, right? That's not a word usually associated with weather. I think of it as being associated with cooking. But focusing on weather, sizzling conjures up some real images in your head, right? Lots of sweat, brown grass, more sweat. Maybe some light beer or seltzers.
Luckily, the folks at Farmers’ Almanac are also saying we'll get some scattered summer showers. That should make the farmers happy. The heat will make the corn happy, so maybe everyone will win?
Out west they'll have a poor growing season, according to Farmers’ Almanac. The rest of the country appears fairly normal. Which I suppose is good.
Many are hoping for the first "normal" summer since COVID. Sizzling may indeed conjure up those feelings of heat and sweat, but it does beat having all your outdoor plans canceled because it's extremely wet, right?
Grab the sweat towel cuz according to the Farmers’ Almanac, it's gonna be a long, hot SIZZLING ol' summer!
Summer officially starts on Tuesday, June 21, 2022. But let's not wish away spring. Just snow.
