“Kinnick Wave” Featured In Carrie Underwood’s “The Champion” Video
The University of Iowa made national headlines in 2017 with its tribute to the patients of the Stead Children's Hospital. The "Kinnick Wave" at the conclusion of the first quarter of Hawkeye football games quickly became the best tradition in sports.
The "Kinnick Wave" was so inspirational that it was included in the video for Carrie Underwood's new song "The Champion," which was used during NBC's coverage of Super Bowl 52 as well as the Winter Olympics. The video, also featuring Ludacris, was released on Friday.
