The Fayette County Sheriff's Office was called out this morning (March 11), to an accident involving a school bus that was occupied by students.


The sheriff received the report of the accident at about 7:45am; it happened just east of Maynard, near the intersection of "M" Avenue and 100th Street.

The driver, 78-year-old Michael Carey of Fayette, was attempting to back up a West Central School District bus, when the bus slid into the ditch on "M" Avenue.

The sheriff notes that the bus was occupied, but no one was injured. Damage was also minimal.
