Before Clarksville native, Maddie Poppe, was declared the winner of American Idol season 16, she was a student at Hawkeye Community College. As sort of a payback and salute to her days spent on the campus just south of Waterloo, Poppe will perform a virtual concert aimed at community college students.

The free online event is open to the public, but the Facebook page also mentions: "join Maddie for a live virtual show specifically for students at Iowa's Community Colleges. She'll play music and answer questions about her experiences."  Poppe will perform covers and originals including several of her singles like "Going, Going, Gone," "Made You Miss," and most recently, "Nothing Good Comes Out of California." A link to the Facebook event will be posted on Hawkeye Community College's Facebook page just before the show starts at 7pm on Thursday, February 4th.

While attending Hawkeye Community College, Poppe, studied digital mass media. When she wanted to make a music video for her song “Not Losing You,” she returned to Waterloo and enlisted help from HCC students. Check out the video below, filmed at the Grout Museum's historic Snowden House. Then scroll down for a photo gallery of Poppe's career in photos including a wide array of outfits.
