NFL Team Creates ‘Sensory Room’ For Fans With Autism
The Philadelphia Eagles have partnered with Children's Hospital to create a space where fans with Autism can enjoy a trip to Lincoln Financial Field without the harsh atmosphere a football game can create. The room comes fully equipped with soothing features such as, Toys, color changing lights, comfortable seating and a fully trained staff to help ease the stress of a sporting venue.
The Eagles have made it a mission, over the past year, to embrace Autism and support the cause as part of their team mission. Autism 5k's, and bike rides are some of the major events the team has participated in, as well as subtle additions, like the teams mascot baring noise canceling headphones to better relate to kids and adults who need them. Players have even met with behavior annalists to help gain a better understanding of how to interact with fans with Autism. Thank you, Philadelphia, for embracing such a worthy cause.
