The Oelwein Police Department reports the arrests of several people over the weekend, all on separate charges.

On Sunday (March 7), officers arrested 33 year old Travis Entrekin of Oelwein, for Assault Causing Bodily Injury, and 2 counts of Simple Assault. The arrest was made following an incident in the 700 block of South Frederick Avenue.

At about 6:30pm Sunday, police stopped a car in the 400 block of 4th Street. The driver, 22 year old Chester Mosby Jr. of Oelwein, was given citations for Driving While his License is Suspended, and no Insurance.

Just before midnight Sunday, officers pulled over a vehicle driven by 31 year old Jesse Guest of Oelwein. Guest was arrested for Driving While his License is Barred, and Failure to File SR 22 insurance.

And on Friday (March 5th), police were called to the first block of 2nd Avenue NW for a reported assault. Following an investigation,, 47 year old Shawn Armstrong of Oelwein, for Assault, and Public Intoxication.

Oelwein Police also investigated a traffic accident at about 9:30pm Sunday, at 14th Street SE and Highway 150. A vehicle driven by Brian Frenzen collided with a vehicle that did not stop. The incident is still under investigation.
