Hundreds of dads have graced our television screens. From Homer Simpson to Danny Tanner, Fred Sanford to Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor, TV dads have made us laugh, made us think, and made us cry. But which one is Iowa's favorite?

The website HowToWatch.com put together a list of the most popular television fathers in each state, using search results from Google Trends.

Some of these selections make total sense (for example, Walter White from Breaking Bad was #1 in New Mexico, while Red Forman from That 70s Show was the top pick for Wisconsin), but some were head-scratchers. The Addams Family patriarch, Gomez, was the most popular in FIVE states. Overall, the most popular TV dad of all is a rather recent example; Jack Pearson from NBC's ugly-cry-inducing This Is Us, took the top spot in SIX states.

Iowa's #1 choice was Dr. Jason Seaver, played by Alan Thicke on the sitcom Growing Pains between 1985-1992.
